Where to find support

If things are heavier than a work problem right now, these people are better placed to help than anything on this site.

If you are in immediate danger, call 112 or 999. Both are free from any phone, and work with no credit and no SIM.

If you want to talk to someone now

If the pressure is money

Debt is a solvable problem far more often than it feels like one, and the people who solve it for a living do it free.

MABS — the Money Advice and Budgeting Service
0818 07 2000, Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm. Free, confidential and independent. They review your budget, deal with creditors on your behalf, and check you are getting everything you are entitled to. It is a State-funded service, not a company selling you anything. mabs.ie

Your GP

Worth saying plainly, because people discount it: a GP appointment is often the shortest route to ongoing help rather than a one-off conversation, including a referral to counselling.

These are services in the Republic of Ireland. If you are somewhere else, the equivalents exist — search for your country’s crisis line, and the emergency number where you are.

Build Your Exit is not a support service and nobody here is a clinician. Nothing on this page is advice. It is a list of people who are qualified to help, kept short on purpose.
